Welcome to the Speares Sports website Speares Sports is a different, multi-disciplined sports and rowing club. Based in Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire we support and encourage our members to achieve in all sports, take on new challenges and push their limits, but always with a strong emphasis on fun, enjoyment and the social aspect.
So if you are a like minded adventure racer (experienced or novice), interested in running the Devon coastal path, zorbing down the Cotswolds, free falling from 10,000 feet over Banbury, fell-running in the Lakes, or just looking for a friendly drink in Stratford Upon Avon on a Thursday evening, please contact us. Top raffle prizes helped raise over £1,200 for The Shakespeare Hospice. 16/11/10 Double First for Speares  Speares achieved a double first on Sunday in the Cannock Chase Trail Plus Adventure Race. 13/07/10 Speares take on the Yorkshire 3 Peaks  After recently completing the Welsh 3000s, Speares members now have their eyes set taking on the Yorkshire 3 Peaks this weekend. 09/06/10 Speares adds new kayaks to the toys list  Speares Sports has recently purchased 2 new kayaks to add to clubs inventory of toys! 13/05/10 Sarah comes 3rd in Stratford Fun Triathlon Speares member Sarah Rapp took place in the Stratford-upon-Avon Fun Triathlon over the weekend 13/04/10 Speares Sports goes (again) for the Welsh 3000s on Sat 15th May After being thwarted by the horrendous conditions necessitating last minute cancellation of the Welsh 3000s attempt, we're trying again... 30/01/10 Club acquires lactate monitor The club now has the ability to accurately measure lactic acid levels to help your training 25/01/10 Coaching session is a big success The first running coaching session on Sunday turns out to be a big hit 14/12/09 Paul and Gemma break through the pain barrier hand in hand – an inspiration to all The happy couple (see the pictures) achieve their target of competing in a 10k race in 2009. Just in time then! 25/06/09 Team Nunatak finish third  Team Nunatak have completed their marathon 3 peaks challenge, finishing the race in third place behind EADS Innovation and Hazard Chase. Team Isle of Man also finished ahead but by the rules of the race will/should be disqualified after using their engine & accepting emergency help when they ran aground. 01/10/08 The Ball Is a Massive Success We are delighted to confirm that the Ball raised more than £1,100 , which, along with other money raised through other events, is enough for us to complete our target of buying a hand crank bike for Dave Martin. 28/04/08 Speares members complete the 3-peaks challenge!  Speares sports members John Taylor, Paul Bartlett, Richard Ludlow & Alex Julien have successfully completed the Three Peaks 24-hour challenge. They finished in 17 hours 52 minutes, 6 hours 8 minutes under their target! # experienced rowers/canoeists only |
